A New Era for the Wyoming Weapons Collectors Association (WWCA)

Welcome to the official home of the Wyoming Weapons Collectors Association (WWCA). As we prepare to celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary, and cherished Second Amendment, we’re happy to debut a new look and a renewed commitment to our members. You will notice our new full-color logo on all materials this year—a symbol of our dedication to transparency, professional standards, and the preservation of Wyoming’s shooting heritage.

We are pleased to confirm that the WWCA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in good standing, with all state and federal filings current.

Our Commitment to the Next Generation

The WWCA is, above all, a family-oriented organization. We believe that hunting and shooting sports offer a unique opportunity to instill discipline, ethics, and a profound respect for safety in our youth.

Our Promise to Families

  • Highest Ethical Standards: We operate with a zero-tolerance policy regarding any conduct that compromises the safety or well-being of our members, especially our youth.
  • A Safe Environment: Every WWCA-sponsored event is designed to be a safe, welcoming space for families to learn and grow together.
  • Youth Memberships: We are proud to offer a dedicated Youth Membership (ages 0-17) for just $8.00 annually or $50 covering all years from birth through age 17.

Investing in Wyoming’s Future

Moving forward, the WWCA is shifting its focus toward direct youth empowerment. We are developing robust pathways to reward young members who demonstrate exceptional character, a commitment to firearms safety, and a passion for hunting and shooting sports. By moving in this new direction, we ensure that our resources directly support the growth, safety, and education of Wyoming’s young outdoorsmen and outdoorswomen.

WYOMING 2026 LEGISLATIVE SESSION RECAP

Wyoming’s 2026 Legislative Session: A Mixed Result for Second Amendment Advocates

The 2026 Wyoming legislative session has concluded, leaving a complex landscape for firearm owners and advocates. While several pro-Second Amendment bills successfully crossed the finish line, a high-profile attempt to strengthen the state’s Second Amendment Protection Act (SAPA) met with a gubernatorial veto that the legislature was ultimately unable to override.

For members of the Wyoming Weapons Collectors Association (WWCA) and the broader 2A community, understanding these shifts is vital for staying informed on how state law interacts with federal oversight.

The SAPA Standoff: SF 101 and HB 130

The most significant headline of the session was the failure of the 2026 SAPA amendments. Building on the original 2022 Act, these updates (Senate File 101 and House Bill 130) aimed to add "teeth" to Wyoming’s refusal to enforce unconstitutional federal gun directives.

The Proposed Changes Included:
Civil Penalties: A $50,000 fine per violation for agencies found assisting in the enforcement of federal gun regulations.
Private Right of Action: Allowing individual citizens to sue government entities for alleged violations of the act.
Expansion of Terms: Prohibiting "material aid" to federal agencies regarding gun enforcement.

The Outcome:

On March 10, 2026, Governor Mark Gordon vetoed the legislation. In his message, the Governor expressed concerns that the bill’s broad language could create "unintended consequences" for law enforcement. Specifically, he and 23 Wyoming sheriffs argued that the bill might inadvertently hinder essential cooperation between state and federal agencies on non-firearm issues, such as drug interdiction and human trafficking.

On March 11, the Wyoming Senate attempted an override but fell short with a 12-18 vote, missing the required two-thirds majority. Consequently, the 2022 version of SAPA remains the law of the land—it still prohibits the use of state resources for federal gun "land grabs," but without the new proposed penalties.

Legislative Victories: New Laws for 2026

Despite the SAPA veto, the session saw the successful passage of several bills that expand and protect the rights of Wyoming firearm owners. Governor Gordon signed the following into law:

What This Means for You

The 2026 session highlights a philosophical divide within the state’s leadership. While there is near-unanimous support for Second Amendment rights, the disagreement lies in enforcement and liability.

The passage of HB 98 ensures that Wyoming’s stance against "Red Flag" laws is more than just a suggestion, while the lowering of the concealed carry age recognizes the rights of legal adults across the state. However, the SAPA debate suggests that future attempts to penalize law enforcement cooperation will continue to face scrutiny from the executive branch and local sheriffs.

Stay Vigilant: As we look toward the 2027 session and the upcoming Memorial Weekend gun show, the WWCA remains committed to monitoring these developments. Your voice as a collector and a citizen is what drives these legislative conversations.
