A New Era for the Wyoming Weapons Collectors Association (WWCA)

Welcome to the official home of the Wyoming Weapons Collectors Association (WWCA). As we prepare to celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary, and cherished Second Amendment, we’re happy to debut a new look and a renewed commitment to our members. You will notice our new full-color logo on all materials this year—a symbol of our dedication to transparency, professional standards, and the preservation of Wyoming’s shooting heritage.

We are pleased to confirm that the WWCA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in good standing, with all state and federal filings current.

Our Commitment to the Next Generation

The WWCA is, above all, a family-oriented organization. We believe that hunting and shooting sports offer a unique opportunity to instill discipline, ethics, and a profound respect for safety in our youth.

Our Promise to Families

  • Highest Ethical Standards: We operate with a zero-tolerance policy regarding any conduct that compromises the safety or well-being of our members, especially our youth.
  • A Safe Environment: Every WWCA-sponsored event is designed to be a safe, welcoming space for families to learn and grow together.
  • Youth Memberships: We are proud to offer a dedicated Youth Membership (ages 0-17) for just $8.00 annually or $50 covering all years from birth through age 17.

Investing in Wyoming’s Future

Moving forward, the WWCA is shifting its focus toward direct youth empowerment. We are developing robust pathways to reward young members who demonstrate exceptional character, a commitment to firearms safety, and a passion for hunting and shooting sports. By moving in this new direction, we ensure that our resources directly support the growth, safety, and education of Wyoming’s young outdoorsmen and outdoorswomen.

Join Us for the 37th Annual Memorial Weekend Gun Show

Dates: May 23 & 24, 2026

Location: Fremont County Fairgrounds, 1010 Fairgrounds Drive, Riverton, WY

This year, we are expanding! To honor the U.S. Semiquincentennial (America 250), we have secured the two largest buildings to house over 250 tables of firearms, knives, ammunition and accessories. Both the Fremont Center and Heritage Hall will be bursting with activity and excitement!

New for 2026:

  • Youth Shooting Range (hosted by NWTF local chapters)
  • Cowboy Church services Sunday morning at the Little Wind Center

Special Raffle: Our portion of the 50/50 raffle proceeds this year will go towards funding a much-needed, roadworthy enclosed trailer for the Association. Because our table needs exceed those of the venue we must have a place to store the tables and the old trailer has simply seen better days.

For the 50/50 Raffle you can purchase one for a dollar, six for $5 and you need not be present to win - but if you are we will be handing out the cash prize at 2 p.m. on Saturday so you still have time to spend it on that special firearm or other item that will put the biggest of smiles on your face!

Admission: As always, the purchase of a patron ticket enters you into our annual gun raffle (Must be present to win and pass all background checks).

Legislative Watch & Member News

As we head into the 2026 Wyoming Budget Session this February 9th in Cheyenne, the WWCA is keeping a close watch on legislation affecting your rights.

Wyoming Legislative Preview (Budget Session 2026)

Since this is a budget session, non-budget bills require a two-thirds vote just to be introduced, so only the most supported bills usually make it through. Two to keep on your radar:

  • HB0014 (Protecting Self-Defense): This bill deals with reimbursement and amendments related to self-defense—a high priority for many firearms collectors.
  • Draft 26LSO-0033 (Firearm Hold Agreements): As discussed, this provides liability protection for folks who temporarily hold a firearm for someone else (like a friend in crisis) and then return it.
  • Repeal of "Gun-Free Zones": There is ongoing talk from the Freedom Caucus about bringing back a repeal of gun-free zones in state-owned buildings, which has been a hot topic in Cheyenne and across The Cowboy State recently.

Federal Level: The 2026 "Musical Chairs"

Since it is an election year, the Wyoming federal delegation is seeing its biggest shake-up in years:

  • Senator Cynthia Lummis has announced she will not seek a second term.
  • Representative Harriet Hageman has announced she is running for Lummis's open Senate seat (with an early endorsement from President Trump).
  • The House Seat: With Hageman moving toward the Senate, the House seat is wide open. Current Secretary of State Chuck Gray and Casper businessman Reid Rasner have already announced their bids.

This is an election year, and as always we encourage all patrons and members to stay engaged with our federal delegation regarding the protection of the Second Amendment. While there is less excitement around midterm elections it is crucial to remember to vote, particularly in the August primary elections where often the real decisions are made, frequently moving a candidate to the November ballot where they are unopposed.
